Rob Lightfoot heads up HUB International Mining at the Vancouver offices of HUB International Insurance Brokers. He also leads the HUB International Construction practice. As such, Rob is responsible for providing customized insurance solutions to mining and construction companies of various sizes with operations around the world.
Prior to joining HUB International Insurance Brokers, Rob accrued extensive experience as the Vice President of the Construction and Design Industry practice group for a large international insurance brokerage. He holds his Level 3 Insurance License and designations as a Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) and Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP).
David Turner is Vice President of HUB International Ontario, serving as its Mining Practice Leader. David joined HUB International Insurance Brokers in 2012 and has over 20 years of insurance experience.
Prior to joining HUB International, David was President of Turner Risk Consulting Inc. During his tenure, he provided risk advisory services to the renewable energy industry. During this time, he also served as Senior Advisor to the Bridgepoint Group, a boutique consulting, advisory and merchant banking firm that enables the development of management of sustainable energy and infrastructure transactions.
In his career, David has led Private Equity due diligence teams and National Environmental Practices and his experience spans several industry sectors including mining, renewable energy, environmental services and technology.
David holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Western Ontario and a Masters in Business Administration from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. He also holds a Canadian Risk Management designation.
Phaedra Andrusiak heads up HUB International Directors’ & Officers’ Liability Insurance at the Vancouver offices of HUB International Insurance Brokers. As such, she works extensively with mining industry clients. She is committed to providing companies with the highest level of quality service, utilizing her unique skill set and professional background.
Phaedra’s formal training includes a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of British Columbia, Mediation certification and a Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) designation. She has diverse experience advising a variety of entities across many industry sectors. With a client base that includes non-profit, private as well as global large market-cap public companies, Phaedra has extensive knowledge on the local and international insurance and risk management solutions available for each specific risk profile.
Jessica Robertson joined HUB International Mining in February 2013. As an Associate Account Manager, she manages a portfolio of mining and exploration clients with properties throughout North America, Latin America and Africa. She also serves clients of HUB International Construction.
Prior to joining HUB International Insurance Brokers, Jessica gained six years of insurance experience at two of the largest privately-owned insurance brokerages in Australia. She holds a Level 2 Insurance License in both British Columbia and Australia.
Ray Monteith is Senior Vice President and Risk Control Services Leader of HUB International’s Canadian operations. Ray works out of the Burnaby, BC office and joined the HUB Group of Companies in 2014.
For the past fifteen years, Ray has been a Risk Management Consultant providing evaluations and risk mitigation strategies to a broad range of clients, including various agencies of federal, provincial, and municipal governments across Canada. He has also worked extensively with institutions, universities, heavy industry, and major insurance companies.
Prior to joining HUB International, Ray served as the Director of Regional Operations for SCM Risk Management Services, where he was responsible for RMS operations throughout the four western provinces and the territories. Prior to that role, Ray spent six years with the Insurers' Advisory Organization (IAO) as a Senior Loss Control Consultant assuming responsibility for highly protected commercial risks, special hazard and institutional surveys, as well as construction plan reviews, course of construction inspections, municipal liability surveys, and municipal fire protection evaluations with the Fire Underwriters Survey. Ray has also been engaged in research on hazardous materials decontamination protocols with the Simulation and Training Exercise Collaboratory (SIMTEC) project through the Office of Applied Research at the Justice Institute of British Columbia.
As Risk Control Services Leader with HUB International, Ray is responsible for directly managing and servicing the Risk Services Team in Western Canada, as well as working closely with HUB’s Canadian corporate and regional leadership to ensure HUB’s Risk Services Team is fully coordinated and deployed across the nation. Ray also sits on HUB International’s Risk Services Leadership Team.
Ray holds a Master of Arts degree in Disaster and Emergency Management from Royal Roads University, as well as the Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation. He is a member of the Society for Risk Analysis, the Risk and Insurance Management Society, and the Global Risk Management Institute.
With his broad technical experience and leadership in property protection, life safety, and organizational resilience, Ray is a key contributor and valuable member of HUB International, and a trusted advisor to our many clients.
